Who Are We?
We are a diverse group of
grassroots activists united by our desire to help animals.
What Do We Believe?
- Every animal deserves the
right to live free from human-inflicted pain and suffering.
- All abused, neglected,
or exploited animals warrant our concern.
- We can help reduce animal
abuse by choosing not to eat, wear, or otherwise exploit animals.
- Most people care about
animals. We can promote a more humane society through education about
the nature of animals and about how animals are mistreated.
- Recognizing that the Earth
contains an interconnected web of life, we seek common ground with the
environmental and other progressive movements.
- Martin Luther King said,
"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." There
are connections between different forms of abuse, such as documented
links between animal abuse and child abuse.
What Do We Do?
We focus on helping animals who suffer in:
- the meat and dairy industries
- the entertainment industry, e.g., circuses and rodeos
- the fur industry.
How Do We Help These Animals?
- We place advertisements in local newspapers about fur, circuses, rodeos,
and factory farming.
- We take part in community festivals in order to distribute information
about animal abuse.
- We provide information to businesses, governments, media, and to other
establishments about cruelty-free alternatives.
- We promote direct action through writing letters, making phone calls,
circulating petitions, and organizing peaceful demonstrations.
- We network with national, state, and local animal protection organizations.
